President's Report

President's Report

Greetings to our MCPF Members,

Oh how quickly the year has come and gone.  I am honored to serve as your President for 2016.  Along with me moving into this role, we have a few other changes to note.  Whitney Aguilar of Scottrade is our new Vice President.  Lisa Carroll of Edward Jones will remain as our Secretary.  Marc Stephenson will remain as our Treasurer.  Ryan Nicholls of Washington University is taking on the Membership Director role.  Jim Sharp, of Aegis Emergency Management is serving as our Communications Director.  Finally, we are fortunate to have Roxann Taylor of World Wide Technology taking on the Program Director role.  These are volunteer roles, so our deepest appreciation and gratitude goes out to our outgoing board members Shawnee McDonough, Anna Bathon, Marybeth Edwards, and Bill Cannon for all of their hard work and dedication.  Shawnee will be remaining on the board though as President Emeritus.

As we move into 2016, we will continue to model our meetings after some of our most successful meetings in 2015.  In addition to bringing in subject matter experts on key topics of interest to the membership, we will continue to conduct round table/interactive sessions that draw out the experience of our seasoned professionals. Your board, led by the efforts of our Program Director will be preparing the remainder of the year's meetings, including the annual Symposium.

Finally, I wanted to pass along a few reminders:

  • Membership dues for 2016 are due in January.  Please pay by March 31st or we will have to drop you from the mailing list and remove your access to the Members only area of the website.
  • Refer your colleagues and peers in the industry to the MCPF. For each brand new member that you refer, you will receive a $10 gift card to a local establishment such as St Louis Bread Company or Starbucks.
  • The MCPF Annual Symposium requires many months of planning and coordination. If you are interested in an opportunity to volunteer, the Annual Symposium Committee can use your assistance. Please contact our Vice President, Whitney Aguilar at our next meeting.

Respectfully,

Steve Seton, MBCP

President, MCPF
