MEETING CANCELLED:  Due to the increased and ongoing commitments of the MIAC and the St. Louis Fusion Center, this meeting has been cancelled.  We will attempt to reschedule it at a later date, when all parties participating are once again available.  We apologize for any inconvenience.

Good morning MCPF members:

As part of our ongoing efforts to bring value to our members, thereby improving the resilience frameworks of their organizations, the MidAmerica Contingency Planning Forum is proud to announce that, for our September 2017 meeting, we will host a joint Missouri Information Analysis Center (MIAC) and St. Louis Fusion Center (STLFC) Intelligence Liaison Officer training event.  This training opportunity is open to anyone responsible within their organization for safety, security (physical and cyber), force/workforce protection, contingency planning, continuity of operations, and similar functions.

Participation in and completion of this course will allow access to MIAC and STLFC information/intelligence that would otherwise be unavailable to you.

For those who may be unfamiliar with the terminology, fusion centers have been established nationwide to enable and empower public- and private-sector security, public safety, fire, health, emergency management, critical infrastructure, and other personnel to lawfully gather and share threat-related information.  This course will discuss the history of fusion centers, the three (03) Missouri fusion centers, and the Intelligence Liaison Officer (ILO) program.  We will also discuss how anyone from the public or private sector can be involved in the homeland security effort.

Public and private sector organizations within the State of Missouri can benefit by receiving information regarding possible terrorism investigations, trends and analyses, the identification of potential terrorist targets, and investigations that cross jurisdictional boundaries.  Participation by the corporate sector is necessary, as they are the owners and operators of the majority of our nation’s infrastructure and, as such, need to be informed of potential threats to their operations or personnel.  Emergency responders can also benefit from that information, as well as from learning about the specialized skills and resources available through their private-sector partners.

We urge registration as early as possible.  This is a unique training opportunity, difficult to schedule due to the demand for the course and the duty commitments of those who manage and operate these programs.  Space may also be somewhat limited, depending on the number of MCPF members registered and the number of guests invited, so we are respectfully requesting each MCPF member to limit his or her guests to three (03) for this event.
